Look to the Holy One of Israel or seek help from the LORD
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the LORD. Isaiah 31:1-3
I think it’s an insult to God when we trust in the safety of this world to bring peace to the chaos. I think it’s an insult to God when we look to the water faucet to automatically give us water and give no thought to the One who created water. I think it’s an insult to God when we put hope in health-care and the systems of this world to pay our bills above asking God for healing and provision. I think it’s an insult to God when we go to the market and carelessly load food into our buggies without first stopping and thanking the Lord. I think it’s an insult to God when we spend more time at the gym exercising, social networking, and watching TV than spending time in His presence reading the Word and praying.
You know I wouldn’t put this stuff out there if it weren’t a struggle of my own. I am asking that you give what I am saying some thought and prayer. Ask the Spirit of God to examine your heart. I challenge you to make some changes in your life. Ask the Spirit to take control of your mind. Take captive every thought. Pray for me as I work through my own stuff as well. Scripture says in Psalm 139:23
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.”
